3rd Afghan Belt Wrestling National Championships” Herat” Herat is one of the Southern Province of Afghanistan, On first June, 2007 the Belt Wrestling National Championships were held in the Herat Sports Stadium in 7 weight categories. 60, 66, 73, 81, 90, 100, & +100Kg between (105) wrestlers and 15 selected teams from 15 different Provinces of Afghanistan. That 28 wrestlers are achieved Medals and Membership of the National Team in their weight categories. There were more then 10,000 People to watch the Championships and encourage the wrestlers during Championships.  Ahmad Yama Samak International referee is refereeing in front of thousands People in Herat Before mentioned National Championships, we conduct the elective championships separately between 15 Provinces that more then 100 wrestlers were participate from each Provinces in the elective championships of their Provinces. For now there are more then 5,000 people who are practicing Belt Wrestling Sport in Afghanistan. In Afghanistan Sports field also the Belt Wrestling and Kurash Sports are one of the National and Traditional Sports, that from the last centuries tell know our people are conduct it in the New Year celebrations, and traditional festivals Our people from remote Villages and Provinces are love it as a one of their famous sports in the Country. In the ( Shahnam-e- Ferdawsi Book) which was one of the valuable and grate effect of Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Iran, and Medal Asia. In about 1,000 years age this sport has been mentioned in the name of ( Rustami Wrestling ) that has been written as a poem in different parts of the book. The 1st and 2nd Belt Wrestling National Championships were held on 2005 & 2006 in Kabul City capital of Afghanistan,  On the right Said Mahmood Zia Dashti President of the federation handling the Medals for winners.
